Ayurveda and Yoga Detox and Purification with Wesley

In the early stages of Yoga practice, we are purifying the body with postures, breath, lifestyle, and Yogic diet. Think about the nature of the postures we practice and their effect on that part of the torso from the upper abdomen down.

In forward folds, prone backbends and in twists, not only are muscles made more supple and strong, but the internal organs of detoxification and elimination get a little inner massage. Stagnant blood is squeezed out and fresh blood is moved in and around the internal organs as we come in and out of these postures giving them more tone and supporting their better function.

This enhanced functioning of the inner organs increases their capacity to breakdown and assimilate nutrients making the body stronger, and also their capacity to expel metabolic and food wastes and toxins. As wastes are expelled, the body is also supported to become stronger and more vital, and the energy that was once used to process toxins can now be used for living.

Moreover, in working with fuller and more aligned breath patterns during posture practice, and moving in breath coordinated movements, alongside pranayama (breath practices), our nervous system becomes more steady and stronger. We thereby develop greater stress resilience as our whole body-mind-energy system moves into a harmonious alignment.

All this contributes to a body which can keep itself cleaner, freer, clearer and so more vital. Herbs have been used for thousands of years to purifying certain organs in the body. Helping the system to function at a normal compacity. Overall this all will help your health and mental wellbeing.

In this workshop we will address:

-Purification daily through herbs and diet

-Breath work

-Asana - physical practice

Joint Freeing Series with Wesley Pilcher

The Joint Freeing Series (JFS) is a beginner-level yoga practice that aims to increase the mobility of joints 1. It consists of 21 simple movements that help warm up the joints, starting from the ankles, and proceeds to work on the knees, hips, spine, torso, wrist, elbows, shoulders, and ends with the neck .
The series was formulated by Mukunda Tom Stiles, founder of Structural Yoga Therapy, to help address day-to-day aches and pain in the body due to lack of mobility of the joints and the attached muscles .
The JFS is similar to Pawanmuktasana Series 1, which also involves the movements of the joints and the attached muscles 1. These 21 poses help increase the muscle strength slowly progressing in better range of motion of the joints. They also help free the tensions and emotions blocked or hidden between the joints, relieving one from aches and pain related to the ankles, knees, hips, back, shoulders, wrists, neck, and even fingers and toes .
The series is designed to be a simple mindful practice that can help students discover their own body and its limitations 1. It is extremely beneficial for people with osteoporosis, arthritis, or senior citizens

Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath Class

Join AYC owners, Kayce Johnson and Wesley Pilcher, for a Pop-Up Yoga Nidra and Sound Bath Class!

Yoga Nidra means "Yogic Sleep." It is a state of consciousness and gently focuses the mind while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. In Yoga Nidra, you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state, and go to deep sleep yet remain awake. While Yoga Nidra is a state that is very relaxing, it is also used by yogis to purify the Samskaras (the deep impressions that are the driving force behind karma).

This deeply relaxing class will combine the guided meditation of Yoga Nidra with the healing sounds of crystal singing bowls, drums, crystal pyramids, gongs, and other healing instruments. This class is suitable for all-levels and is taught in a reclined position that encourages stillness and brings the practitioner into a meditative state.

Transforming our Dragon: Relaxing into the sea of Love and Sacred Relatedness

Saturday, October 28th from 1 pm to 4 pm

at the Arkansas Yoga Collective

Join us at the Arkansas Yoga Collective for an afternoon of BioDynamic guided meditations and silent group healing sessions. In these meditations we will be opening into a sense of our belonging; Mitakuye Oyasin - our sacred relatedness to all beings and things with life.

In the silent group healing sessions we will invite the expression of the Breath of Life to release whatever might be between us and our conscious awareness of our Connection to the Divine and all of Life.

"We really want to Love without holding back, but we are afraid." Tara Brach

When we are identified with or possessed by our wants and our fears, our shame and our anger, we forget who's behind the appearance of the Dragon. It's really a case of misidentification of who we really are. Our meditations and the silent group healing sessions will gently guide us into resting as who we are as the awareness and the aliveness and the love that is our essential nature.

Rose will be leading the sessions.

Throughout the afternoon, Drew will be accompanying Rose through his intuitive application of crystal singing bowls - all of which are aligned with our chakra frequencies.

We have been divinely created, and we are meant to unfold divinely, living from our natural state of the radiance of Love. From this space of our wholeness, the brightness and goodness of our hearts shine through so we can live in a shared heart space and a shared relatedness with all of life.

The world and life itself depend upon this.

Dream Meditation: Yoga Nidra + Sound Bath

Looking for a rest, relaxation, or to just get-away?

Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a healing practice that deepens relaxation, releases tension and helps to strengthen the immune system. It is a unique marriage of science and spirit. Take your brain on a spiritual exploration through Theta-wave Ocean into deep layers of your subconsciousness.

Experience the power of sound: mesmerizing singing bowls, magical flutes, romantic charango and enchanted chimes are used to captivate your mind, massage your soul and open your heart to higher frequencies of Loving- Kindness resonance. All the while you are guided to an inner journey to heal and harmonize your relationships: with yourself, your family and Universe.

This peaceful practice will leave you feeling grounded with a deeper connection to yourself.

Common questions:

1. Why would I want to experience Yoga Nidra? Yoga Nidra removes stress, restores body and clears mind, helps to shape goals in life.

2. I'm not a yogi. Can I do it? Yes, 100%. No special skills or abilities required.

3. Is it necessary to be in a good physical shape? NO, anyone can lie comfortably on their back, with eyes closed and listen to my voice and music.

 4. What should I wear? Body quickly cooling down lying on the floor in the state relaxation for a prolong time. To be comfortable, wear warm and loose clothes: sweat shirt and pants, warm socks are ideal. You can also bring a blanket and a pillow.

 5. Can I bring my partner? Of course, he/she is guaranteed to be grateful, for this joyful and insightful experience.

 6. If my friend is going through rough time, personal crises, depression would it be good to do a Yoga Nidra? Yes, very few things can profoundly alter and bring a positive change in those circumstances; Yoga Nidra is one of them.

First Friday Yin Yoga Donation Class

First Friday Yin Yoga Donation Class

Join Kerri Michael on the first Friday of every month for a 90-minute Yin yoga practice from 7:00-8:30pm. This will be a donation-based class that is suitable for al-levels and focused on relaxation and supported postures.

So, what is Yin yoga?

Yin yoga consists of a series of floor-based postures that we hold in a passive way for several minutes, often with props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets. This gives time in the pose for the muscles to relax, letting time and gravity do their thing, so that instead of targeting the muscles as you would in a more active yoga class, we’re targeting the joints, the fascia, ligaments, and even the bones. We’re getting deep into the connective tissue in the joints, which facilitates ease in the body and increases pain-free range of motion.

This connective tissue is literally what holds us all together throughout the body! But it’s also holding our energetic body together, the meridian system or nadis, which is essentially the energetic highway for our life force, our chi or prana, to move throughout the body. Yin yoga helps to release stagnant energy, that stuckness, so that our energy can flow freely.

And finally, this practice has deep and lasting mental benefits. Yin yoga is healing. It helps to calm the mind and nervous system. A Yin yoga practice helps us create space to notice and allow and sit with whatever’s going on with us mentally and emotionally, in a safe environment. And with practice, we become better able to sit with difficult emotions off the mat, too.

Yoga Nidra with Wesley Pilcher

Yoga Nidra means "Yogic Sleep." It is a state of consciousness and gently focuses the mind while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. In Yoga Nidra, you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state, and go to deep sleep yet remain awake. While Yoga Nidra is a state that is very relaxing, it is also used by yogis to purify the Samskaras (the deep impressions that are the driving force behind karma). In this Pop-Up Class, you will be guided through a deeply meditative state while experiencing the many benefits Yoga Nidra provides.

To all who long and strive to realize the Self, Illumination comes to them in this very life. This divine awareness never leaves them, And they work unceasingly for the good of all. When the lamp of wisdom is lit within, Their face shines, whether life brings weal or woe. Even in deep sleep they are aware of the Self, For their mind is freed from all conditioning. Inwardly they are pure like the cloudless sky, But they act as if they too were like us all. Free from self-will, with detached intellect, They are aware of the Self even with their hands at work. Neither afraid of the world, nor making the world afraid, They are free from greed, anger, and fear. When the waves of self-will subside Into the sea of peace that is the Self, The mind becomes still, the heart pure, And illumination comes to us in this very life. When this supreme state is attained, They neither rise nor fall, change nor die. Words cannot describe the supreme state For it is fuller than fullness can be.

  • Training paid through individual modules: $400 (a bit of interest is included for this pay-as-you-go option). Also if you are doing the modules out of order, the 6th module has to be completed last.

  • Continuing Education Credits are available for current teachers who are seeking to deepen and refresh their knowledge in a specific area. You are free to take individual module trainings and will receive a certificate plus continuing education credit in that specific area. Current teachers will receive 20% off of both individual pay-as-you-go modules and the complete training (if you so wish to complete our 200hr training, you will receive a certification of graduation in our training, as well). Full training: $1760 Individual Module: $320

We hope to help you customize your training so it can best fit your needs. Please private message us at contact@arkansasyogacollective.com if you have any questions.

  • Once you begin a module, the payment will not be refunded. If you must miss, we will try to help schedule a time to make it up. There will be an additional charge for the extra time spent making up the module requirements.
