Hips Don't Lie: a Hips and Hamstrings Workshop

The hips are known to be a storage depot for unwanted stress, anger, pain and frustration. Allow this workshop to release and soothe the muscular tension commonly found in this area of your body.  There are many causes for tight hips such as anxiety, a sedentary lifestyle, and common workouts like running and cycling.

This workshop is designed for anyone who would like to be more open through the hips and hamstrings. We will begin delve into the hips and hamstrings through a dynamic hip-opening vinyasa flow practice, accompanied by an eclectic playlist (which of course will feature Shakira!).  We will explore postures that aid in increasing mobility of the pelvis, loosening the hamstrings and opening the hips.  This workshop will include a deeper exploration into "peak" poses such as Bird of Paradise and Hanumanasa (Splits) and various yoga stretches.  We will conclude with restorative yoga designed to gently soothe the lower body and promote relaxation.

This workshop is open to all levels!  Tori believes in meeting students where they are physically and emotionally and providing safe instruction for everyone.  She believes that yoga should make you feel empowered and strong, regardless of your experience, and teaches with that in mind.  Tori trained in the Vinyasa Flow practice of Hatha yoga with Faith Hunter in Washington, DC.  She received her 500 RYT from Yoga Alliance in 2012.
