Calming and Self-Love Practices for Children

We are in the month that highlights love. This class is focused on showing young ones how to nurture their hearts through calm, conscious movement and self-love practices. 


This class is open to children ages 6 and up and their parent/caregivers. Everyone will learn a guided meditation, breath exercises, and yoga postures that children (and adults!) can use to relax and open their hearts. The class is open to all-levels. It will be super beginner friendly and will also encourage those who already have some zen practices in their toolkit.

When: February 17th, 2-3:00pm

Cost: $15 Per participant; if a parent or caregiver comes with 1 child, it will be $25 for both. To add an additional child or adult to the pair, it will be $15 per addition

Kayce Johnson holds a Masters Degree in Psychology. She worked in the mental health field for over 10 years, including positions as an art therapist, psychologist, case manager, trauma informed staff trainer, and has completed a practicum with children receiving special mental health care. Kayce continues to volunteer and leads yoga classes at mental health facilities. She has taught yoga for over 10 years, co-owns Arkansas Yoga Collective and helped establish The Legend of Greater Things Retreat and Event Center. In addition to her yoga ventures, Kayce runs an all-natural body care line called Kind Folke (www.kindfolke.com). Above all, she is a mother to a magical being named Iahla. This has provided the most inspiration to helping children navigate the world with more awareness and bliss.

Karla Shepard worked in state government for 30 years. After the sudden death of her youngest child, Karla built The Legend of Greater Things Retreat Center to help others and honor the light that her daughter shared. She helps others recognize the shadow work that needs to be integrated and transformed. Karla offers 1-on-1 mentorship guidance to those who struggle with grief and life stressors. She loves working with children, and often uses play therapy and a kind ear to help those who are extra sensitive find their way. She also leads workshops and sound healing sessions, teaching others the tools that have helped her get past her darkest days, instilling a sense of hope for healing, and helping people find the courage to thrive.
