Ruslan Kleytman at AYC!

Ruslan is back at Arkansas Yoga Collective to share his vast knowledge with us through innovative, sincere, and fun workshops. The last time he was at AYC, many of us shared unique and life-changing experiences throughout his training; experiences that we will carry with us forever. We are thrilled that he has chosen to come back with even more awesome workshops to share.

Ruslan Kleytman, ERYT 500, is a founder of Akhila Yoga, integrative style of yoga. He is devoted yogi, gifted body worker, martial artist and an avid acroyogi. Ruslan is a permanent student of Life and Movement Arts, he traveled extensively the world in search of spiritual guidance and studied with prominent Masters in Ashrams and Monasteries in India and South Korea.  On his spiritual path he met Swami Mrityunjaya Tirth ji, the master who initiated him through Shaktipat into the system of Siddha Yoga. The Tirtha lineage of Siddhayoga is a mystical sect of Shaivite Hinduism that relies on direct experience of life-force or Kundalini Shakti and understanding of Tantric scriptures (shastras).
Over a decade of Ruslan's physical yoga practice, internal work of meditation and scriptural studies came to fruition with development of Akhila Yoga system. This method embraces a holistic approach to yoga, working on development of all levels of being; physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. Ruslan created internationally recognized Akhila Yoga Teacher training programs (200-hour & 500-hour) and responsible for hundreds of certified students around the globe. He recognizes yoga practice as a method of liberation and Self-realization and empowers his students with a harmonious, balanced practice aimed at creating the most fertile environment for personal transformation and spiritual development.

6:30-9:30pm: TRANSFORMATIONAL BREATHING; Transformational Breath is a unique therapeutic modality. This form of breath work facilitates the natural healing process for all types of trauma. It is beneficial in gaining greater physical, mental and spiritual health, and in maintenance of optimal health. It clears past trauma, drama, accumulated stress, reprograms healthy breathing patterns, increases oxygenation throughout the body, heals psychosomatic illnesses, enhances awareness of self-sabotaging patterns, helps to heal anaerobic diseases, stimulates circulation, plus many more benefits have been observed from this scientific practice.

9:00-12:00pm: RHYTHM + FLOW; In this class, you will practice a specifically choreographed routine designed to uplift the spirit, tone the muscles, stimulate your vital organs, and encourage the body to release accumulated toxins. The practice includes detoxifying breathing exercises, Dancing Warrior warmup set, Shiva dance algorithms (legs and arms movements as connectors between Hasta Mudras, or hand gestures), multi dimensional horizontal (Hanumanasana set) and vertical (Samakonasana set) splits, and a 10-step Camel (Ushtrasana) back bending set for dessert.

1:00-4:00pm: RELATIONSHIP DYNAMICS THROUGH AYURVEDA + YOGA; This lecture is an exploration of the way ayurveda views relationships. Understanding the doshas (body-mind constitutions), Gunas (universal forces and qualities), and the way different personalities and aspects of personalities interrelate to give you more insight into your daily interactions, specifically focussing on how to make them more peaceful. The dynamics within couples, the parent-child relationship, family, and friendship will be discussed.

6:30-7:30pm: YOGA NIDRA; Yoga Nidra means "Yogic Sleep." It is a state of consciousness and gently focuses the mind while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. In Yoga Nidra, you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state, and go to deep sleep yet remain awake. While Yoga Nidra is a state that is very relaxing, it is also used by yogis to purify the Samskaras (the deep impressions that are the driving force behind karma).

9:00-12:00PM: THE FLIGHT OF GARUDA; Garuda is an Indian mythological bird that can change shape according to its function. He is adaptive, fierce, determined, smart, and immensely strong. The Garuda archetype will be used to build a practice based on his qualities.

In this workshop, you will learn the secrets of floating and aerial transitions in yoga asana. Vinyasa Flow-Warrior Stance-Salutations module with an organically inserted therapeutic and technical breakdown of crow vinyasa, flowing jumps, handstands, and arm balancing asanas. This dynamic and creative workshop is open to all-levels.
