Kundalini Yoga for Intuition: A Pop-Up Class with Lakey Goff

"Why do we need intuition? We need it in every moment.

Why?

Because,“I want to know.”

And if I don't know, I have to hustle. And then I waste all that precious life in hustling. ”

- Yogi Bhajan -

Our psyches are under intense pressure and daily we process vast amounts of information. It's difficult to discern our own thoughts.

Using the technology of Kundalini Yoga to balance the glandular system, stimulate the pituitary gland

( third eye) we can move from mental confusion to clarity and into the power of our innate intuitive abilities.

New Moon Ritual Workshop with Michelle Rhodes
Dec

New Moon Ritual Workshop with Michelle Rhodes

Women are naturally lunar. Observing and tracking the phases of the Moon helps us to align with this natural connection and make sense of our own phases.. By noticing and getting in tune with the subtle energies of the moon as she gets bigger and smaller, and how that pattern affects us individually, we are able to notice the parallel patterns in our own lives as it pertains to our creativity, emotions, and intuition. Once you understand the pattern, you can use it to support your growth.
The New Moon is the beginning and ending of every 29.5 day long lunar cycle, and is the time when we plant seeds for the upcoming month, 6 months, year. Using the specific energy of the New Moon and her placement astronomically, we are able to access these subtle cues much more easily.
This month we celebrate the Sagittarius New Moon, filled with wonder and curiosity for all of our life experiences. Come join us as we find ways to expand and enjoy the delight in this season. We will discuss creating your own ritual space at home, and learn tools you can use over and over again to support personal intention setting.
Workshop includes:
*printed new moon journal & workbook
*guided meditation
*circle discussion on the lunar phases, importance of the New Moon, and how they relate to our lives
*detailed astrology report around this new moon in Sagittarius and how to effectively set intentions for the upcoming cycle.
*new moon journaling and intention setting
*personal crystal and essential oil for Sagittarius season

Honor your cyclical nature as a woman by connecting to earth, a community of women, and your own feminine intuition.
‘With straight spines and soft hearts, may we root to the earth, connecting, at once, with gravity and limitlessness. May we leap into the future, setting pure intentions—fearless, responsible, and free’.

New Moon Ritual Workshop, December 2nd 7:30-9.
Cost: $39

*if you know your astrological sun and/or rising sign, please come with this information. It isnot required, but will be helpful for the intention setting process

Through the Eyes of a Child: A Workshop to Open the Third Eye

Through the Eyes of a Child: A Workshop to Open the Third Eye

By the age of four, children are sensing and processing twice as much as adults. This enhanced focus on details and awareness creates the awe-like wonderment that children beautifully express. By the age of 16, we have typically leveled off in our abilities to be as open. In a sense, we begin to become “set in our ways.” But what if you could begin to gain some of this awareness back? What if you could tap into more sensory experiences and rewire your brain to enjoy more of what the world has to offer? Join internationally known psychic, medium, and spiritual coach, Bonni McCliss, and meditation and life guide, Karla Shepard, in exploring how to open the third eye using techniques we are born with but are taught throughout life to close down. Where and when did we lose the connection and how do we get it back? The holidays are the perfect time to reflect, let go, and see what lies beyond. Join us for a afternoon of tips, techniques, meditations all centered around increasing intuition and deepening our connection to the infinite. This workshop will end with a relaxing sound bath of crystal bowls to help raise your frequency and help you carry and hold the experience.

4:00 AM04:00

Early Morning Sadhana with Lakey Goff and Kayce Johnson

Join us this Sunday, December 2nd, from 4-6am and wake the sun with a powerful Kundalini Yoga Practice.

We will need intuition, stamina, both physical and mental, self-awareness, and a new depth of spiritual experience that can hold our identity in the face of global changes, relentless competition, information overload, and ecological and environmental challenges.

The Aquarian Sadhana is practiced by Kundalini Yoga communities across the world. Sadhana means daily practice. Doing sadhana in a group develops group consciousness. A group sadhana practice amplifies the impact of the meditation. Yogi Bhajan said that group meditation not only adds to individual effort, but multiplies it.

During what are called the “ambrosial hours” (the two and a half hours just before sunrise), when the sun is at a sixty-degree angle to the Earth, the effects of sadhana are amplified.

4:00 am: Recitation of JapJi Sahib. ( Song of the Soul)

4:20am: Tune in with the three repetitions of Adi Mantra / Kundalini Yoga Kriya

4:55-5:00 am Deep relaxation.

5:00– 6:00am: The Aquarian Sadhana Mantra Meditations for 62 minutes.

6:00 – 6:15 am: Yogi Tea

*This is an all-levels FREE event! All are welcome to join.

Traditional VinyasaFLOW paired with Self-care WORKSHOP focused on using your Breath , Meditation, Alignment , and Flow paired with GANGSTA RAP; TRAP MUSIC

/trap/ NOUN: An unpleasant situation from which it is hard to escape ie..Glass ceiling at work, Low Self Esteem, your ego, Depression etc..

Most of us are accustomed to looking outside of ourselves for fulfillment. Our experiences show us that nothing external can completely fulfill the deep longing within for "something more." We are caught up in doing rather than being, in action rather than awareness. Aware of your meditation (INTENTIONS), aware of your breath (LIFE), aware of your alignment (PLAN), & aware of your flow (ACTION). Through such state of AWARENESS we can REACH a level of JOY and ACHIEVEMENT

Everyone has a story! Each story is different! What's holding you back from being the BEST YOU is different than what's holding me back. In our workshop you will have the oppurtunity to visit your TRAP. Through WORDS of AFFIRMATION reminding you of your INNER STRENGTH & individually JOURNALING your STRATEGIC PLAN with ACTION ITEMS you will begin to create a path to pull you out of your CONFINEMENT aka YOUR TRAP.

Yin Yoga with Rena Wren

This class will give students the opportunity to access, nourish and massage the deep connective tissues of the body for a wonderful new kind of yoga experience.

Yin yoga is a quiet practice suitable for students of all levels of experience. Through the practice of long held postures targeting mainly the connective tissue of the low back, hips and hamstrings, Yin yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing your body. When we let the muscles relax, the work is done in the areas beyond the muscles and into the joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Many of the poses are seated, supine or prone, with special attention paid to areas that encompass a joint (hips, spine, sacrum). We hold poses with the muscles relaxed for several minutes. Also, by targeting the main meridians (energy channels) of the body, this type of deep tissue practice assists you in removing ama (toxins, blockages) and creating more mental and physical harmony. This is a more meditative practice with a focus on the breath, being present in the moment, relieving tension and letting go. The Yin practice includes powerful mental and emotional benefits as you become quiet, still and mindful of the present moment. Other benefits of Yin yoga include: reduces stress, creates calm in the mind and body, builds stamina, lubricates and protects the joints, increases flexibility in the deep tissue, and improves your meditation experience. Give yourself this opportunity to surrender, slow down and come back to balance. Yin yoga is a perfect complement for vinyasa flow and other physically challenging “yang” practices.

Props are extremely useful for this type of practice so that you can access the deep tissue in the best way for your body. If you have props of your own, please feel free to bring them (blocks, blanket, bolster).

It is easy to be held back by limiting beliefs of scarcity, anxiety, and fear. Learn to break through these beliefs with meditations and exercises that you can use daily to find peace, prosperity, and happiness.

About Lila:

I discovered yoga in 1999 and have been practicing ever since.  I found it as a way to ease my depression and anxiety, and as a much needed tool to break away from the mental gymnastics going on in my head. I have studied many forms of yoga and meditation throughout the years and I use methods from several traditions to customize practices for my clients.  While my approach is simple, sessions are always dynamic, incorporating mindfulness, balance, strength, flexibility, humor, and a little rock and roll. There is always a deep focus on breath. My goal is to create space for my clients to get in touch with their spirt, light, and the love within them....because from this place, anything is possible.

Introduction into Kundalini Yoga
Apr
23
6:30 PM18:30

Introduction into Kundalini Yoga

"Kundalini Yoga is called the "Yoga of Awareness." In Kundalini Yoga we harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body and put them under the domain of the will, which is the instrument of the soul. This technology precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purifiy the blood. It brings balance to the body, mind, and soul."
-3HO

Starting in May, AYC will have a regularly scheduled Kundalini Yoga Class. This is an introductory workshop led by Kayce Johnson and Lakey Goff to provide you with more information about what kundalini yoga is, how it came to the US, what to expect in a kundalini yoga class, how this technology works, and review some of the methods kundalini uses to help you raise your awareness (such as pranayama techniques, mantras, and kriyas).

This is the perfect class for beginners and people who are new to kundalini yoga. Even if you are not familiar with kundalini yoga or have never taken a kundalini yoga class, you will feel comfortable with this introduction. Kundalini yoga is for everyone.

April Satsang: The True Face of Light

This is a free event, open to the community!

7:00pm - 7:45pm Meet/Greet/Food
7:45pm - 8:30pm Lecture/Discussion & Focused Mantras/Kirtan
8:30pm - 8:50pm Meditation
8:50pm - Closing of Satsang/Aarti

Happy April!

In this months Satsang, we will explore and discuss the True Face of Light. Enhancing ourselves like the Phoenix, rising from the dark ashes, learning and becoming more aware... Lets explore, discuss and provoke thought!

"Nikola Tesla, a visionary, and accomplished being of the modern era, said that he had family conversations with lightning and the colors of a sunset taught him invention. We know less about the historic Patanjali, but it is said that in his continuous pursuit of the light of knowledge he became a grammarian, an ayurvedic doctor, and a philosopher. Both of these people urge us to find perfection and capture our universal identity.

So also does Kapila, the founder of Samkhya Philosophy, in this excerpt from the Srimad Bhagavatam where he instructs his mother, Devahūti: “Egoism in the mode of passion produces two kinds of senses—the senses for acquiring knowledge and the senses of action The senses of action depend on the vital energy (prāna), and the senses for acquiring knowledge depend on intelligence (buddhi). By interactions of the air and the sensations of touching, one receives different forms according to destiny. By evolution of such forms, there is fire and the eye sees different forms in color. My dear mother, the characteristics of form are understood by dimension, quality and individuality. The form of fire is appreciated by its effulgence.”

The Sun is the original source of light that makes vision possible. The fire/light of the yogi is the tapas that burns away impurities, and the ash that remains is the vibhuti; the sacred ash. Siddhi is the power that rises out of the black ashes like a phoenix from the fire of tapas. Patanjali reminds us that it is dangerous to be self-satisfied and halt progress with the acquisition of siddhis—restings on our laurels."
Excerpt from April Focus of the Month - David Life

Mantra Chanting: Repetition of specific mantras in a call and response format!

Relaxing Meditation (Approx. 25 minutes): Meditation will focus on the light from within!

Look forward to seeing you there!

Testimonials

“You feel the rhythm in your bones. The drum beat starts to match the rhythm of your heartbeat, starts to match to the rhythm of your breath until all of a sudden you are just in this energy of oneness, connected with the drums, connected with the other people, connected with the deepest part of yourself." - Becky "Tara" Eschenroeder (Great Abiding Yoga)

"Everyone moves together, building a collective energy that is very strong and powerful, felt deep within the heart and quieting the mind, helping sync movement with breath and having their energy, energy of those around them and energy of the drumming move them through their meditative practice." - Nicole Boyle (Studio owner, In Balance Yoga)

This workshop offers gentle physical yogic techniques with mindfulness, meditation and breath work to address the effects of aging. Practical and accessible, they help to maintain range of motion, increase flexibility and strength, and promote feelings of well-being. By using the alignment of the body as reference points, mindfulness and meditative movement develops. Breath work creates a sense of calm, clarity and center.

Primordial Re-Pattering

Primordial Re-Pattering

The spiral path, as contained in the infinity symbol and the shape of the sphere, has since ancient times suggested a capacity for infinite return and rebirth. Our bodies are built using the shape of the sphere and the arc, the strongest architectural elements known to man. From the time of birth, our bodies develop not linearly, but through spiraling movement patterns that take us from rolling to crawling and eventually to walking. Our mental and spiritual bodies are cyclical and can be seen as moving along a spiral path through an ancient concept found in many cultures called the Medicine Wheel.

Join Sarah and Stela for an afternoon of discussion, movement and meditation that explore these primordial spiraling patterns in human development, which are fundamental to health and wellbeing. Drawing from both science and tradition, the workshop will move you through two parallel models of development: one that governs our bio-mechanical and cognitive development and another that informs our spiritual and emotional body. Together we will seek patterns that have become stuck, stale or painful and gently move ourselves towards transcendence and freedom from such.

Part 1: In the first half of the workshop, Stela will discuss the fundamental patterns necessary for healthy and complete human development as well as what happens when things go astray. Movement is at the center of all learning since the time of birth. Movement is therefore the key to accessing healing and self-fulfillment. The practice offered will place emphasis on movement and stillness that access the body’s original operating system, highlighting its spiraling nature, to reveal hiccups (compensation, trauma, unrecovered injury) and eventually bring the body into a single felt sensation. As these original patterns are re-introduced in a digestible way, the body has an opportunity to begin healing and experience itself anew.

Part 2: In the second half of the workshop, Sarah will explore the patterns through which we move as emotional, mental and spiritual beings. Sarah will introduce the ancient concept of the Medicine Wheel as a tool for transformation into new states of awareness and understanding. A metaphor of life and death, the Medicine Wheel has been used by many traditions as a framework for transformation and spiritual placement. Shamans and medicine people have connected archetypes to each of the four cardinal directions in order to assist with clarity and healing. Together we will build a traditional medicine wheel and you will be given tools to find your place on the wheel of life. Finally, a guided meditation around the wheel will be offered to further cultivate awareness of your patterns and the freedom to transcend them.

Journey to Wholeness: Exploring Dreams to Decode the Symbolic Language of the Unconscious

Journey to Wholeness: Exploring Dreams to Decode the Symbolic Language of the Unconscious

Within each of us exists an inner world with multiple energy systems that form our unconscious and combine to create the psyche. These systems influence our daily life through the choices we make, the relationships we form, and the beliefs we hold. To achieve a harmonious flow between unconscious and ego, we must first understand that these energy systems are distinct and independent parts of our personality. The unconscious mind is constantly trying to communicate with the conscious mind through two main pathways: dreams and imagination. For many, the dialogue between the two goes unnoticed as we stay distracted by our modern world of to-do lists and constant stimulation. The consequence is not only an isolation from the unconscious but an isolation from spirit.

This workshop will focus on examining dreams to bring the fragmented parts of the psyche together. Join us to begin the journey towards wholeness by learning the language of the unconscious using a method inspired by Swiss psychologist and psychiatrist, Carl G. Jung. Attendees will learn a practical, step-by-step approach to identify, understand, and acknowledge the message of dreams. Even those who have trouble remembering their dreams will learn tips and solutions for accessing dream images to discover a deep sense of unity and meaning.

Self-Care Rituals for the Full Moon with Kayce Johnson

Self-care is a commitment to honor the sacredness of being alive. The more you can cultivate a healthy relationship to honoring the divinity that presents itself as tiny miracles- the acts of connecting mind to breath, breath to body, and body to space- the closer you are to working within the flow and understanding the patterns of the universe.

This workshop will include a gentle Lunar Flow with pranayama techniques (breath exercises) to open and relax the body for meditation. You will then learn a tea meditation for releasing and forgiving followed by a meditation to cultivate a sense of gratitude, using an essential oil blend that you will infuse with your intention and then be able to take home. The hope of this workshop is that you begin to understand the foundations of developing self-care rituals and that you will then be able to personalize the rituals to fit your needs as you slow down to appreciate the beautiful rhythm of the universe that cradles us all.

Cost: $20 includes workshop, tea, and one bottle of anointing oil
*Please preregister so that we can make sure to have enough oil and tea for everyone
